Daniel Mantei Choreography, Dance, and Movement

Daniel’s work “plays entrancingly with gravity— ingeniously stealing it from the physical dimension and infusing it into the emotional realm."

Thanks for checking out my choreography! As a movement artist, choreographer, and worker in the healing arts, I am inspired by the communicative and healing power of dance, movement, and the human body. For me, the nurturing power of touch, the medicinal quality of movement, and this human urge to express ourselves through dance all feel interconnected. We all have a body, and we all move. Self-embodiment is a universal language. In my choreography, I am drawn to explore themes of humanism, justice, and solidarity through ballet inspired movement that is made healthy, naturalized, and humanized. Dance is a through-line interwoven through time, space, and music, creating beautiful moments of collective ‘presencing’. It’s an honor to share the present moment and ‘presence’ with you.
